Welcome to the Youth Impact Foundation

Our mission is to empower young people to create a positive impact in their communities.

Our Mission

The Foundation aims to inspire, educate, and activate young people regarding societal challenges such as circularity, safety, the energy transition, and sustainability, as well as everything that is related to, connected with, or beneficial to these topics in the broadest sense.

The Foundation seeks to achieve its goal by, among other things:

  • Organizing and offering innovative and accessible educational programs for young people;
  • Providing young people with practical tools, inspiration, and guidance;
  • Promoting triple-helix collaborations between education, government, and business.

The Foundation is a non-profit organization and does not aim to generate profit. All activities are carried out in the public interest.

Activities

Captain Fanplastic
Captain Fanplastic increases environmental awareness among young people worldwide through experiential education. Through school programs and cleanup campaigns, we encourage behavioral change and circular thinking. In this way, we are building a society of active citizens who contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Rabobank Cooperative Sustainability Grant
Thanks to Rabobank’s Cooperative Sustainability Grant, we visited several schools in South Limburg to introduce students to the world of Captain Fanplastic. Both the children and the teachers were wildly enthusiastic. One of the participating teachers put it beautifully: “Captain Fanplastic lets children experience for themselves, in a fun way, how they can look at their surroundings, prevent plastic pollution, and manage waste better.”

DLL Eindhoven
Thanks to DLL Eindhoven, over 120 students were able to participate in Captain Fanplastic. In addition to a financial contribution, DLL also actively helped during the cleanup: various employees went out with groups of students to raise their environmental awareness. Such an initiative opens everyone’s eyes; not only the students, but also the teachers and DLL employees were surprised by the amount of waste on the streets.

SOL Foodhackathon
With this challenge, we bring education, businesses, and young talent together to tackle innovation challenges that contribute to a future-proof food sector and increase the influx into the sector. In addition, students have the opportunity to experience what it is like to work in the food industry and discover the great career opportunities available.

Financial Resources

The Foundation's financial resources may consist of:
